The Farmhouse is situated in the peaceful hamlet of Ecorsaint (approx 45 minutes west of Dijon) in the heart of the burgundian countryside. There are no shops or cafes in the hamlet but both are just a 10 minute drive away. The Farmhouse comfortably sleeps 4 although is also ideal for 2. It shares magnificent views and a swimming pool with two independent, private villas, Pickwicks Cottage (sleeps 2) and L’Ecurie (sleeps 8). All 3 properties can be rented individually or as one unit sleeping up to 14 people.
A few steps up to the porch is the entrance where a bench is provided for peaceful, shaded rest!
The front door leads into a large double aspect kitchen/salon. The kitchen is well equipped with ample storage and work units, a gas cooker with extractor fan, toaster, microwave and fridge. The room has a large open wood burning stove (wood provided), a 3-seater sofa and armchair, bookshelves and coffee table. Central heating is provided throughout the rest of the cottage.
Off the salon to the left, there is a large shower room featuring an old stone slab sink and a wonderful open shower. There are deep storage shelves and a separate WC.
Open stairs, which house the washing machine, lead from the bathroom area up to a mezzanine bedroom with twin beds and clothes hanging space. The room has oak beams and a window overlooking the private lane.
To the right of the salon is a staircase leading to a large beamed, sunny bedroom. The room has a double bed, clothes hanging and storage space and a sink with a shaving socket.
The cottage has been refurbished this winter with new windows and oak parquet flooring.
For the summer months the swimming pool is shared with Pickwicks Cottage and L’Ecurie. It is set away from all the houses (50 metres) and therefore provides a reasonable amount of privacy for guests. The pool is regularly maintained, cleaned and has an efficient heating system regulating the temperature at 26°C. The poolhouse has changing rooms and an undercover eating area (complete with small fridge and sink). There is also a WC, shower, changing area and a line for drying wet towels and bathing costumes. Poolside furniture is provided. Swimming towels are not provided.
Prices are per week and include linen (beds are made up) and towels (swimming towels are not provided) and all other charges.
