La Maison Jaune is situated in the sleepy village of Villy en Auxois, approximately 45 minutes west of Dijon. The house sleeps six people very comfortably in three large bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms. It has a heated swimming pool for the exclusive use of guests. The house is situated on the edge of the village overlooking the village green with its playing fields and tennis/basketball court (available free of charge on a first come first served basis).
In the village is a local grocery store and bar. The nearest supermarket is in Vitteaux, a ten minute drive, with other shops including an excellent boulangerie.
The spacious kitchen/breakfast room is sunny and well equipped providing a washing machine, dishwaher, fridge/freezer, microwave, gas cooker and food processor. There is a large window overlooking the garden and pool with two windows to the side.
Up a few stairs onto a half landing is the large salon/dining room with oak beams, woodburning stove, comfortable sofas, satellite TV (English & French) and CD/tape player.
The master double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, provides a bath and shower, is up a few steps from the salon and has a cupboard with storage shelves and hanging space. The room has windows overlooking the side and back garden.
Along a small corridor, stairs lead to the second floor with the two twin bedrooms both with ensuite bathrooms, with showers. The bedrooms have velux windows overlooking the garden and offer clothes storage and hanging space.
The house is in a small, quiet lane with plenty of parking on the small adjoining grassland which belongs to the house. The back garden has a vine-covered terrace with garden furniture, sunloungers and an excellent barbecue.
The heated swimming pool measures 8m x 4m with walk-in steps with a maximum depth of 180cm. The pool is regularly maintained.
